PROJECT UPDATE 8/17/2018
Soil correction has been largely completed, and the roadway should be much more easily passable going forward. Please let us know if you or others are having difficulty traveling to your home. The contractor will be performing finished grading at the end of next week, and concrete curbing and concrete driveway installations are expected to start next Thursday, 8/23/18
More information in mailed notice here.
PROJECT UPDATE 8/10/2018
The Craigbrook Way subgrade did not meet specified testing requirements. Of the two options for corrective action, the contractor elected to “farm” the roadway in an effort to dry out the soils. Unfortunately, this option has not produced the desired results in an acceptable timeframe.
To ensure the roadway is reconstructed to perform with longevity, it is important the subgrade meet set specifications. After recent additional testing of the soils, the City has directed the contractor to excavate localized areas of the poor subgrade and import more suitable materials. The contractor will begin this work Monday, August 13th.
Upon completion of the soil corrections and passing the roll test, construction will be carried out as previously planned. Milestones include the following:
- Final grading of Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
- Concrete Curb and Gutter for Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
- Asphalt paving (2 lifts) of Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
- Restoration (Driveways, grass sodding, and landscaping)
