The SPRING (Sanctuary Protection and Renewal Into the Next Generation) Project has 4 main goals:
Provide additional and improved environmental and science education capabilities.
Create an expanded environment to host weddings, special events and community celebrations.
Provide enhanced, wonderful outdoor experiences.
Continue to protect the park's fragile ecosystem while still catering to the increasing numbers of visitors.
Interpretive Center Expansion
A new 8,000 sq ft section of building was constructed as an addition to the current 5,000 sq ft center. Key features include 4 classrooms, a catering kitchen, a fun and welcoming entrance, expansive bird-friendly glass viewing areas, and new exhibits. We rely on green building practices and sustainability features including: geothermal heat and air conditioning, porous hard-scapes, roof gardens and recycled materials.
A nature-based play area, an amphitheater, expanded parking, rerouted trails and an 85th Avenue berm were added to Springbrook! Future proposed outdoor additions include: an updated pavilion, a celebration plaza, and outdoor meeting areas and classrooms.
Expanded exhibits featuring nature and sustainability are crucial to the Springbrook mission and our commitment to education. Exhibits will range from hands-on to high-tech styles as we help you learn more about the natural environment.
