Xcel Energy will be updating Street Lighting from the current High Pressure Sodium lights to LED Lights. This work will take place throughout the City starting around the end of January through end of February.
This timeline is weather dependent and could change if inclement weather is present. There will be two crews working doing around 40-50 conversions a day.
LED lights are longer lasting, more cost effective and will provide better broad spectrum lighting. This will lead to enhanced public safety and will also save energy. The attached sheet below gives an overview of LED Street Lighting along with before and after pictures so you can get a sense of what they will look like.
If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Xcel Energy LED Streetlight Project Coordinator at 651-779-3166.
