Catalytic Converter Marking Kits + Event

Free marking kits will be available to owners of certain vehicle makes/models starting May 2, and there will be a marking event held at Precision Tune in Spring Lake Park on May 16.

The Fridley Police Division is participating in a pilot program for catalytic converter theft prevention, through the MN Department of Commerce. We have free marking kits available to owners of certain makes and models of vehicles. You must be a City of Fridley resident, and own one of the vehicles below.

Vehicles included in the program are

  • Chevrolet Express
  • Ford Econoline
  • Ford F250
  • Honda Accord
  • Honda CRV
  • Honda Element
  • Honda Odyssey
  • Hyundai Santa Fe
  • Hyundai Tucson
  • Kia Sportage
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • Mitsubishi Lancer
  • Mitsubishi Outlander
  • Toyota Prius
  • Toyota Tundra

Free Marking Kits

You can come into the Fridley Public Safety Department to pick up your kit between 8 a.m.- 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning May 2, 2022. Our Office Technicians will assist you with registration and give you the kit for marking your vehicle’s catalytic converter. Make sure to bring your ID and your vehicle’s insurance card,  VIN number for your vehicle and license plate information. 

May 16 Marking Event

The Fridley Police Division has also partnered with the Spring Lake Park Police Department to bring a catalytic converter marking event to the community on May 16, 2022, located at Precision Tune 896 County Rd 10 NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432. 

Schedule a Time Slot

There are limited time slots for this free catalytic converter marking event. Please schedule a time slot with the Spring Lake Park Police Department at 763-792-7200. You will need to provide you name to include your vehicles make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN) number, license Plate information and color.
